Are breast pump upgrade costs covered under my plan?
Suppliers may offer the option to upgrade to a non-standard breast pump, which often includes extra materials, such as bottles, tote bags, or coolers to make breastfeeding easier. Upgrades are not covered by Blue Shield and must be paid out of pocket at the time of order placement. If you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you may be able to submit the upgrade cost through these programs for reimbursement.*
Can I purchase a breast pump and get reimbursed?
Members should reach out to Blue Shield of California customer services to understand their breast pump benefits and claim submission process.
