How do I know which logo to choose?
File format
There are two file formats for our logos: JPG (best for web) and PNG (best for print).
A JPG is best used when it’s important to have a small file. This is useful for web images because the smaller size will increase the speed at which the page loads.
A PNG file is higher resolution than a JPG and is best used when the size of the image is not an issue. Also, a PNG file–unlike a JPG–supports transparency. This allows you to have a transparent background, which is better for print.
Primary logo versus secondary logo
Use the primary logo (vertical), which is stacked, as much as possible to reduce confusion and maintain brand consistency. Use the secondary logo, which is horizontal, only when the primary logo doesn’t fit into your layout.
Color
The primary logo is used almost exclusively as a two-color logo on the natural off-white background. But in specific instances, the black option may be needed. Always strive for high contrast.
Logo sizing and space
Logos must be at least 1 inch or larger to make sure they are legible. Logos may be resized but may not be stretched disproportionately–either too wide or too tall. Our logo should also be free of clutter. Keep the space surrounding the logo clear of graphics and away from the edge of the page.
