About your benefits vendors
Health and wellness programs are administered by or arranged through the following independent companies (benefit vary based on your plan):
- Alternative Care (for Medicare Supplement members only) - services are provided by the ChooseHealthy® program made available through ChooseHealthy, Inc., a subsidiary of American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH)*
- SilverSneakers® - Tivity Health
- EPIC Hearing Healthcare is an independent entity that administrates services on behalf of Blue Shield of California.
- LifeStation is an independent entity that administrates services on behalf of Blue Shield of California.
- Blue Shield’s vision benefits are administered by Vision Service Plan (VSP). VSP is a vision care services plan licensed by the California Department of Managed Health Care, which contracts with Blue Shield to administer delivery of eyewear and eye exams covered under this vision benefit. VSP also contracts with Blue Shield to serve as a claims administrator for the processing of claims for covered services received from VSP Participating and Non-Participating Providers.
*The alternative care discounts are available to some members with a Blue Shield medical plan. Please note that the ChooseHealthy program is not insurance. You should check any insurance benefits you have before using this discount program. The ChooseHealthy program provides for discounts from specialty health care providers. You are obligated to pay for all services from those providers but will receive a discount from those participating providers for services included in the program. The ChooseHealthy program does not make any payments directly to participating providers. The ChooseHealthy program has no liability for providing or guaranteeing services and assumes no liability for the quality of services rendered. Discounts on services available through the ChooseHealthy program are subject to change. Please consult the ChooseHealthy website for current availability.
